Legal services in Serbia for foreign clients

Foreign individuals and companies can set up a business, buy property and resolve disputes in Serbia without moving here. We work in English, Russian and Italian, and most matters can be handled under a power of attorney.

Starting a business in Serbia

Most foreign investors form a limited liability company (DOO). The company can be fully foreign-owned, and the director can be a foreign citizen.

We register the company with the Business Registers Agency and assist with the tax ID, VAT registration and the first contracts.

Business bank account

Serbian banks carry out detailed checks on new clients, especially companies with foreign owners. Most banks ask the director to come to the branch for identification.

We prepare the documents the bank usually requests and arrange the appointment.

Temporary residence based on a company

A foreigner who founds or manages a Serbian company and works in it can apply for temporary residence. In most cases this is done through a single permit for residence and work.

We prepare the application and follow it until the permit is issued.

  • Founders and directors of Serbian companies
  • Employees of Serbian companies
  • Family reunification
  • Ownership of real estate as a ground for residence

Property, contracts and disputes

Foreign buyers can acquire property in Serbia on the basis of reciprocity. We check the title, draft the contract and register ownership.

We also draft contracts with Serbian partners and represent foreign clients in court and enforcement proceedings.

Frequently asked questions

Can I open a company in Serbia as a foreigner?

Yes. Foreign individuals and companies can be sole owners of a Serbian DOO. The registration can be done by a lawyer under a power of attorney.

Can I get residence in Serbia by opening a company?

A foreigner who works in his or her own Serbian company can apply for temporary residence. The company must be active, and the application is usually made as a single permit for residence and work.

Do I need to come to Serbia to open a business bank account?

In most cases yes, because banks identify the director in person. We prepare everything in advance so that one visit is usually enough.

Which documents from abroad need an apostille?

Public documents issued abroad, such as company extracts and certified powers of attorney, usually need an apostille. Some countries have agreements with Serbia that waive this, and we check this for your country.

Do I need a Serbian tax ID as a foreigner?

You need one for some transactions, such as buying property or receiving income in Serbia. We can obtain it for you.

In which languages can I work with your office?

We work in Serbian, English, Russian and Italian. Documents for Serbian authorities are filed in Serbian, and we provide translations or summaries for you.

How are your fees set?

Fees follow the Serbian Attorney Tariff. You receive a written offer before work starts, and state and notary fees are paid separately.
